Golf Envy Cookie Policy
Last updated: 15 May 2026
1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
1.1 This Cookie Policy is published by Golf Envy Franchising Limited ("Golf Envy", "we", "us", "our"), registered in England and Wales with company number 17113882. Our registered office is at The Dt Group, Swatton Barn, Swindon, Wiltshire, England, SN4 0EU.
1.2 This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies we use on the website at www.golfenvy.co.uk (the "Site"), why we use them, and how you can manage or withdraw your consent at any time.
1.3 This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service, both of which contain additional information about how we handle personal data and your rights under UK data protection law.
1.4 This policy is provided in accordance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), as amended by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA), and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).
2. What Are Cookies?
2.1 Cookies are small text files placed on your device — computer, tablet, or mobile phone — when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognise your device and store certain information about your preferences or activity during and between visits.
2.2 Cookies are not viruses or harmful programs. They cannot access other files on your device or install software without your knowledge. They exist to make websites function correctly, to remember your preferences, and to help website operators understand how their sites are being used.
2.3 In addition to cookies, we use related technologies including pixels and tracking scripts. Where they operate in a similar way to cookies, this policy covers them too.
3. Your Consent and How to Manage It
3.1 Some cookies require your prior, freely given, specific and informed consent before they are placed on your device. Others are exempt from this requirement. The table in Section 4 clearly identifies which category each cookie falls into.
3.2 When you first visit the Site, a cookie consent banner will appear. You can accept or reject consent-required cookies at that point. The banner presents both options with equal visual prominence — accepting is never easier than rejecting. No consent-required cookies are set before you make a choice.
3.3 You can update your preferences at any time by clicking the "Cookie Settings" link in the footer of the Site. This is always free of charge and takes effect immediately.
3.4 Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any cookie processing that took place before withdrawal, but we will not set further consent-required cookies on your device once consent is withdrawn.
3.5 Rejecting non-essential cookies will not prevent you from using the Site. However, some functionality that relies on third-party tools — such as personalised content or campaign tracking — may operate differently.
3.6 You can also manage cookies directly through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies. Please note that blocking all cookies through your browser may affect website functionality. For guidance specific to your browser, visit the relevant support page below:

Google Analytics (Third-Party)
Operated by Google LLC, USA. Data transfers governed by Standard Contractual Clauses. |
These cookies collect information about how visitors use the Site — including pages visited, time spent, and how visitors arrived. This data is used to improve the Site's content and performance.
Because this Google Analytics setup is connected to a Google Ads account, data collected by these cookies is also used to inform advertising campaigns. This dual-use purpose means the DUAA analytics exemption does not apply. Prior consent is required. |

hubspotutk is a unique visitor identifier passed to HubSpot when you submit a form, connecting your browsing history to your contact record. __hstc tracks the full session including pages visited and time spent on Site. __hssc tracks whether a new session should be counted for reporting. __hssrc detects whether a visitor has restarted their browser between sessions. |

4.2 Cookie names shown as "XXXXXXX" contain a property-specific identifier unique to the Golf Envy Google Analytics or Google Ads account. These will be confirmed and updated in this policy once the Site's final technical configuration is complete.
4.3 If new cookies or tracking technologies are added in the future — including functional or additional marketing cookies — this policy and the consent banner will be updated before those cookies are deployed, and fresh consent will be obtained where required by law.
5. Third-Party Providers and International Data Transfers
5.1 Several cookies on the Site are set by third-party providers — Google, Meta, and HubSpot. These providers operate under their own privacy policies and may set additional cookies on your device when you interact with content or services they power. We encourage you to review their policies directly:
5.2 Data collected by third-party cookies may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries outside the UK. In each case, we have confirmed that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data in accordance with Chapter V of the UK GDPR — specifically the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms.
5.3 You can request further details of the specific transfer safeguards we rely on by contacting us using the details in Section 8.
6. The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 and Analytics Cookies
6.1 The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA) amended PECR with effect from 5 February 2026, introducing new exemptions from the prior consent requirement for certain categories of low-risk cookies. One of these exemptions covers analytics cookies used solely to collect aggregate statistics to improve a service, where data is used only by the website operator and not shared with third parties for advertising.
6.2 Golf Envy's current analytics setup (Google Analytics) is connected to a Google Ads account, meaning analytical data is also used to inform and measure advertising activity. Because of this dual-use purpose, none of our analytics cookies qualify for the DUAA exemption. Prior consent is required for all analytics and advertising cookies listed in Section 4.
6.3 We will keep this position under review. If our analytics configuration changes in the future — for example, if a separate first-party analytics tool is introduced with no advertising connection — we will reassess the DUAA exemption at that time and update this policy. Where any exemption is relied upon, we will always provide clear disclosure and a free, simple right to opt out.
7. Changes to This Policy
7.1 We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use, updates to applicable law or ICO guidance, or changes in our third-party providers. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
7.2 Where changes are material — for example, where new consent-required cookies are introduced — we will update the cookie consent banner so that you are informed and can make a fresh choice before those cookies are set.
7.3 We recommend reviewing this page periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies on the Site.
8. Contact Us and Complaints
